The Uniform Paradox

The Uniform Paradox is a publication exploring the complex relationship between workers' uniforms, power, identity, and surveillance. Using Google Street View images and a selection of texts, this publication investigates how uniforms constrain and reinforce workers' position in society and how surveillance affects their behaviour and identity—on the streets and beyond. Combination of RISO and LaserJet printing.

The publication project grew into an exhibition showcased as part of the S Creatives 2023 festival in Savonlinna. The exhibition featured hand-painted and screen-printed signage, using détournement to transform striking messages into street graphics. Alongside this, I displayed human-sized screenshots of workers’ uniforms sourced from Google Street View, adding another layer to the exploration.

SET Open Studios 2024

This visual identity is developed around text, such as street signage and lettering, found in the area of each SET Open Studios location. The letters were captured with a portable scanner and then digitally collaged to create custom writing that celebrates the landscape of typography in each location and its surrounding areas.

Typographic Pattern Generator

A tool for generating typographic patterns, offering a playful approach for creating text based compositions. Customise the number of columns, rows, text size, and words to develop visual patterns infused with randomness and surprise. The inspiration for this project comes from graffiti and other writings often found on walls or toilet doors.

MODES OF:
A Tin Can

MODES OF: a Tin Can brings together a range of research to facilitate new perspectives on a seemingly mundane subject matter. In this first edition, MODES OF focuses on Tin Cans, taking the reader from the objects physical form to more metaphorical interpretations. Providing a meeting point for multidisciplinary content to be collated and published.

Heavengravel

Heavengravel, like hailstones, exists between the euphoric and the wretched, creating space for finding possibilities in escapism.

This project explores nature and rave culture as forms of escapism. This is achieved by creating a soundscape that transforms listeners into alternative realities; the soundscape is a mixtape that combines nature field recordings with electronic music from different rave scenes in the 2000s. It exists in a portable metal container that follows the same grid as the CD sleeve artworks, which are all themed around natural elements.

SET Film Festival 2023

Visual identity for the first ever SET Film Festival. Combining elements from archive materials and stills from the films. This identity uses a delicate framing grid to contain and display information in window-like formats, opening portals for different view-points.

Founded in 2023, SET Film Festival is an alternative grassroots festival of contemporary, artist, and archival film. Screenings are held every November at SET Social, an arts and social club located just off Rye Lane in Peckham. They show dozens of shorts each year across five curated screenings, a feature film and run a free archival night showing films from the local area. Each screening is followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers, and is accompanied by a risograph programme printed by SET studio holders Pagemasters.

REALign

REALign is an art exhibition organised and curated by Highbrow Institute in Vienna. It combines art and science in the semi-public space of the Garage Grande in Ottakring. The former parking garage serves as an experimental site for the research topics “Migration”, “Rewriting Histories” and “From Plastic to Quantum Spaces”.

I designed the publication that showcases all the artwork and research behind them. The color palette and layout of the publication were designed to follow the visual themes of the exhibition.

KSA Show 2024

Visual identity for Kingston School of Art’s KSA Show 2024. Inspired by the twists and turns of creative journeys, the identity uses the metaphor of a rollercoaster to reflect the highs, lows, and momentum of student work. It spans digital, print, and environmental design, tying everything together with a playful graphic system and a colour palette.
